Supplemental Site Assessment Work <br /> I <br /> On July 11, 1994, EMCON measured PID headspace at the tank basin observations wells and <br /> beneath each product dispenser. The PID reading was 2.7 ppm at the northwest observation <br /> well. PID readings for the dispensers at the center and west pump islands ranged from 0.3 ppm <br /> at the diesel dispenser (TD-1) to 32.4 ppm at the south dispenser on the west island (TD-2; <br /> Figure A-1). <br /> On November 8, 1994, EMCON conducted supplemental assessment activities at the site. <br /> Three exploratory soil borings (THP-1 through THP-3) were advanced by using CPT <br /> equipment (Figure A-1). THP-I was drilled to approximately 80 feet bgs, THP-2 was drilled <br /> to 26 feet bgs, and THP-3 was drilled to only 17 feet bgs because of CPT refusal. Soil types <br /> logged from drilling included sandy clay, silt, sand,,and clayey silt to the total depths drilled <br /> (see boring logs, labeled HP-1 through HP-3, in Attachment D). No groundwater :was <br /> encountered. Product odor was noted at 10 feet bgs in boring THP-1. PID reading were <br /> obtained every 5 feet; if possible. PID readings taken at between 10 and 25 feet bgs in THP-1 <br /> ranged from 790 ppm to 164 ppm . No volatile organic vapors were detected in soil samples ' <br /> collected from borings THP-2 and THP-3. <br /> Two soil samples were collected from boring THP-2 and THP-3 and three samples were s <br /> collected from boring THP-I and submitted for laboratory analysis of TPH-G, TPH-D, j <br /> TPH-O, and BTEX. The soil samples from boring THP-1 were also analyzed for HVOCs. <br /> None of the analyzed constituents was detected in the sol!samples(Table A-I). <br /> Grab soil samples were taken from soils beneath the southern dispenser of the west .pump <br /> island (TD-2) and the diesel dispenser (TD-1; Figure A-1). These samples were analyzed for <br /> TPH-G, TPH-D, TPH-O, and BTEX. TPH-G (up to 29 ppm) and TPH-D (up to y <br /> 40,000 ppm) were detected in both samples (Table A-1). Xylenes at 0.5 ppm were detected in <br /> sample TD-2.
