Working to Restore Nature
The composite soil sample from the drill cuttings did contain concentrations of TPHg,
ethylbenzene and total xylene isomers above laboratory detection limits but benzene and
toluene were below laboratory detection limits (Table 1) Results for lead, reactivity,
corroslvlty, and lgnitabslity are shown on Table 1 and in the attached laboratory reports
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Trace concentrations of BTEX were detected In soil near the southern region of the
northwestern dispenser island at depths between 46 5 and 515 feet bsg Analytical data
indicate that BTEX concentrations decrease with depth, and are below detection limits at
60 feet bsg TPHg concentrations were below detection limits in all soil samples
Groundwater was not encountered in the soil boring However, based on existing
groundwater monitoring wells within a 2-mile radius, groundwater occurs at approximately
70 feet bsg In our opinion, the detected BTEX concentrations do not warrant additional
delineation at this time
1117shoo/123013 01 3
