Monitoring well MW-2R was installed to replace former monitoring well MW-2.
• February 2008 - Three ground water monitoring wells (MW-10 through MW-12) were
L, installed on-site to depths of 25 feet bgs, 28 feet bgs, and 35 feet bgs, respectively. Six soil
samples were collected from borings MW 10 through MW12 at depths between 5 feet bgs
and 35 feet bgs.Analytical results of soil samples are summarized in Table 1.Results of the
+.• investigation are detailed in the AGE-prepared Additional Site Assessment Report, dated
22 April 2008.
February 2008- four soil borings were advanced at location CPT-1 for cone penetrometer
testing; the CPT location is illustrated on Figure 2. Three grab ground water samples were
collected from separate borings adjacent to boring CPT-I at depths of 52 feet(CPT1-52),68
feet(CPT1-68)and 85 feet(CPT1-85).Analytical results of grab ground water samples are
summarized in Table 3. Results of the investigation are detailed in the AGE-prepared
Additional Site Assessment Report, dated 22 April 2008.
February 2008-Soil vapor testing was initially proposed near the previous UST excavation.
Field work was initiated, but due to precipitation events and discussions regarding
appropriate sampling and analytical techniques, the investigation was not completed.
/ Subsequently, information and analysis was provided to address the appropriateness of the
vapor intrusion pathway.
2.5. STRATIGRAPHY AND SITE GEOLOGY
Generally, the soil type encountered in pilot borings MW 10 through MW12 was a yellow-orange
r..
brown to dark yellow brown and dark brown clay or silty clay. A yellow-orange brown to dark
yellow-brown sandy siltwas encountered at approximately 20 feetbgs in borings MW10 and MW 11,
and at approximately 15 and 20 feet bgs in boring MW12. A dark blue to blue-grey silty sand was
encountered at approximately 25 feet bgs in boring MW 10. Blue-grey to dark brown and yellow-
orange brown sand was encountered at approximately 25 and 28 feet bgs in boring MW 11.Dark blue
to blue-grey sand was encountered at approximately 25 feet bgs in boring MW 11.Dark blue to dark
brown clayey sand was encountered at approximately 30 and 35 feet bgs in boring MW12. Boring
logs are included in Appendix D.
.. Soil data from previous investigations performed by ATC, H&A, and the boring log for MW-10
were used to construct geologic cross sections A-A' and B-B' depicting the general soil profile
beneath the site (Figures 4 and 5).
W
rrr
Advanced GenEnviron mental,Inc.
it
