In the Work Plan, CRA proposes investigate the extent of Light Non-Aqueous
Liquid (LNAPL) detected in well MW-15 by advancing three borings to 40 feet below
ground surface (bgs) and at distances of 20 to 50 feet around the well. To delineate
crude oil detected at boring B-109, CRA also proposes installing a two-inch diameter
monitoring approximately 90 feet northeast of the boring. The well will be installed to
50 feet bgs. Soil and groundwater samples from the borings and well will be analyzed
for total petroleum hydrocarbons as crude (TPHc), benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene,
and xylenes.
The Work Plan is approved. Because of current agricultural use, CRA indicates that the
investigation may not be possible until after the crop harvest in June. Therefore, by
30 September 2014, submit a report of results of the investigation to this office,
Geotracker, and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department.
If you have questions please contact me at (916) 464-4728 or email at
msmith@waterboards.ca.gov.
MICHAEL SMITH
Environmental Scientist
cc: Ms. Adrienne Ellsaesser, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Stockton
Mr. Dan Lescure, Conestoga-Rovers and Associates, Sonoma
Ms. Gaylyn Frosini, FedEx Ground, 1000 FedEx Drive, Moon Township, PA
15108
KARL E.
