If I like what I see, I may be able to 'waive' additional shallow well grouts for this
phase. (unless there is some problem)
As for the deep wells, my August schedule has not been determined yet so it is likely I can be
there for these. I will be onsite for the FIRST deep well grout. If I like what I see for these, it is
possible that the deep well grouts may proceed without my inspection also. (assuming no
problems and the following "update calls" go as planned.
Update calls:
at the very least, on days I am NOT there, a status update is to be phoned into my office at the
end of EACH day advising me of the procedures/completions/well construction
specifications that occurred that day and the plans for the next day. A phone voice mail is
acceptable for these updates.
I will need to know many things about each well. An example of a typical phone update is to
include at least the following:
- MWxx completed to (total depth drilled and bottom of casing)
-length and size of screened interval (5' of .020, etc)
-size and amount of filter material (#3 LoneStar, 400 pounds, etc)
-top of filter material 'bgs
-top of bentonite seal 'bgs
-type/size and amount of bentonite used (i.e: 1/4" pellets, medium chips, 2 bags at 50 lbs
each, etc)
-grout mix and installation method (i.e: 1 bag 94 lbs portland Type IIN per 7 gallons,
recirculated with grout pump, hydraulic twirl in 55 galloon barrel, etc. hand mix with a shovel
is unacceptable, installation method, as in tremie pumped in, poured (not more than 30'),
amount used in gallons and #of bags per mix).
-casing material, size ( 2" PVC, Stainless Steel, Schedule 40 or 80 or 480, etc)
-surface finish. i.e. stove pipe set (type, size, #feet below & above ground), bollards used?
type, size, depth of install, and number OR traffic box.
PDF attached is a field work sheet the EHD uses to record well construction methods and
materials/specifications. I will be looking to complete this form from the information I receive in
the DAILY update calls.
If I do not receive a phone call on days I allow your team to grout w/o my inspection, typically 1
7/7/2010
