Riddle JUL 1 5 1993 <br /> 7574 Shoreline Drive <br /> Stockton, CA 95219 <br /> Dear Mr. Isola: <br /> UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK CLEANUP FUND PROGRAM, CLAIM No..000854 <br /> This letter is to confirm our telephone conversation of July 9, 1993, and my telephone conversation with Mr. <br /> Patrick Riddle on June 9, 1993 in which I stated that we could not keep the settlement agreement confidential <br /> due to the Public Records Act. I told Mr. Riddle that only tax returns could be kept confidential and any other <br /> information contained in the files would be considered public. I further stated to Mr. Riddle that we also could <br /> not reimburse Mr. and Mrs. Knowles for any corrective action costs without reviewing copies of both the <br /> insurance policy and settlement agreement. Mr. Riddle stated that there would not be a problem in sending a <br /> copy of the policy, however I have not yet received it. You and Mr. Riddle both agreed that the next logical <br /> step would be to attempt to have The Travelers Indemnity Company release Mr. and Mrs. Knowles from the <br /> requirement to keep the settlement agreement confidential. <br /> We must receive the following no later than July 30, 1993: <br /> • A copy of the insurance policy under which the Knowles' filed a claim against The Travelers <br /> Indemnity Company as a result of the unauthorized release from an underground storage <br /> tank. <br /> • A copy of the settlement agreement of the above claim between the Knowles'and The <br /> Travelers Indemnity Co. <br /> • Any additional information regarding the claim against The Travelers, or any other party <br /> which has been settled or is still pending which may result or has resulted in the payment of <br /> funds to the Knowles'. <br /> H the documents requested are not received by the due date, the State Water Resources Control Board will <br /> take steps to withdraw the Letter of Commitment. <br /> If you have any questions, call Toru Okamoto at (916) 227-4539. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Toru Okamoto <br /> Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Program <br /> J <br /> cc: Ted& Dena Knowles Margaret Lagorio,R.E.H.S. <br /> 1 140 W.
