KOWA
m
J 0MIXE M!
Mr. Ted Knowles
February 6, 1909
202/799-5027.04
On September 24 and 25, 1987, three soil borings were
drilled, and monitoring wells
(MW) were installed within the
borings (Figure 2, Appendix I) . MW-1 through MW--3 were drilled
F•w to total depths of 65 feet, with Mw-1 and MW-2 screened from 35
feet below surface to total depth. MW-3 was screened from 25 to
t
55 feet below surface due to drilling difficulties which hampered
the well completion process. Results of laboratory analyses of
the associated soilsamples are summarized in Table 1 and
tg presented in A
a; ppendix 11.
Y
On February 2 "
' , 1988, the three existing
taring wells were re-sampled. The sampling groundwater moni-
toring
results are sum-
marized in GTI's "preliminary Report" for the site.
yy} f9
E;
On June 24 1988
PI
Eleven soil borings were drilled at the
site to further define the extant f soil contamination ;n the
#' vicinity of the former underground tank, pump islands, and
' product
delivery lines (Figure 2 and Appendix I) . Soil boring 1
4 ($G-1) was located In the middle of the previously backfilled
tank excavation
, and drilled to a depth of 45.5 feet in an
a attempt to define the vertical extent of soil contamination. #
Tank backfill material, consisting of sand
u encountered to a depth of approximately silt., and clay, was
y 25 feet, SS-2 through
SB-10 were drilled in the vicinity of the
pump Islands and
Product delivery lines to depths of approximately 4.5 feet, SB-
i f 11-.4as drilled a distance from recognized y contamination (4.5 feet total depthg to check
sources of .72
r background levels
(4 of:lead .in the shallow suit. Analytical} _ytical results for,soil samples -
- collected-;ram the borings are summarized in Table 1 andpre-
sented
r
' in Appendix II. The three existing
,., agaii, purged and .sampled at this groundwater wells were
h s time. The results of the, work
performed to date were summarized in GTI's "Preliminary-Report,
F ' . for the site.
K ..
`j - - - _ - -
t P
ry
t
