Kms-
a .
_ Mr. Ted Xnowles
February 6, 1989
202/799-5027.04
rsm
A high--vacuum blower will be manifolded with six activated
carbon vessels to treat extracted vapors prior to atmosphere
discharge (if required by SJAPCD) . Once the soil vent system
meets the requirements of the SJAPCD for temporary discharge, a
full scale test of the SVS will be conducted. This test will
allow GTI to compile data on the zone of soil influenced by the
E SVS and concentrations of vapor-phase hydrocarbons
P extracted
y (prior to discharge and/or treatment) . The data will be analyzed
r 1.4 and presented to obtain an on-going air discharge permit from the E
SJAPCD. ;
TA
N. A.r
Following the installation and testing of the SVS, .GTI would
fg determine what air treatment (if any) would be necessary for E
ongoing operation of the system. GTI would then provide an
additional proposal and cost estimate for operation and mainte-
nance over a two-year period. The ultimate goal of the proposed
SVS would be to reduce hydrocarbon concentrations in soil to n0t1-
detectable levels.
i
n E
r CLOSURE
ti GTI would like to thank you for the opportun.':ty to submit the
^ F
Soil Remediation Proposal.
If
you have any questions regarding A "
thisro osal,
p p please contact our Sacramento District Office at.
