On January 25, 1991, WaterWork installed and developed monitoring well MW8 dcwngradiensourcec �m across Blas t of the contamination Pacific Avenue (Figure 2). Drilling was done by Sp rations, Inc. under C57 license #5.12268. Soils were logged continuously by a staff geologist using the Unified Soil Classi- fication System. Groundwater was detected at 56 feet below grade during drilling and stabilized at55 feet. Soils encountered were consistent with logs for the other wells installed on-site. The MW8 log is contained in Attachment 1. A single soil sample was collected for laboratory analysis at the soil/groundwater interface, 55.5 feet below grade. The soil sample was analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTBX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) . Analysis levels were below detection limits for both STEX and TPHG (Table 1)- On Monday January 28, monitoring well MW8 was purged and sampled. The groundwater sample was analyzed for STEX and TPHG. Analysis results for groundwater were also below detection limits for all Attach- analytes (Table 2).
