GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC. <br /> 1714 Main Street 21 <br /> Fsealon, Cahforma 95320-1927 <br /> Telephone: (209) 838-9888 <br /> Farsnnde: (209) 838-9883 <br /> August 25, 1998 <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject Additional Subsurface Investigation Report <br /> 1140 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> Ground Zero Analysis, Inc (Ground Zero) is pleased to provide you with this Additional Subsurface <br /> Investigation Report for the subject property (Figure 1) The purpose of the investigation was to <br /> investigate the vertical extent of residual soil contamination and to further characterize the extent <br /> of dissolved contamination in groundwater All field work was completed under the direct <br /> supervision of a Registered Geologist <br /> Resources <br /> Ground Zero geologist Jeanne Buckthal directed field work on June 29, and July 14 and 15, 1998 <br /> Fisch Environmental (C-57 #683855) provided direct push drilling services and Woodward Drilling <br /> Co , Inc (C57 #710079) provided hollow stem auger drilling services Argon Laboratories (FLAP <br /> #1873) and McCampbell Analytical (FLAP #1644) completed all soil and groundwater laboratory <br /> analyses <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Underground storage tanks (JSTs) were removed from the site prior to March 1987, and residual <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soils beneath the tanks Between August 1987 and January 1991, 15 <br /> soil borings (SBI through SB 15) and 8 groundwater monitoring wells (MW 1 through MW8) were <br /> installed at the subject site to define the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and <br /> groundwater <br /> In January 1990, approximately 3,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil were excavated from beneath <br /> 0 the former USTs to a depth of approximately 35 to 40 feet Bottom samples indicated that residual <br /> kr"Mes hamVcpods\invrpt.doa <br />
