(209) 952-9891 <br /> August 30, 1995 <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Subject Third Quarter 1995 Site Status Report <br /> Knowles Property, 1140 W Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> • This letter report summarizes third quarter 1995 activities at the subject site (Figure 1) Activities <br /> during the quarter included groundwater monitoring, well purging, and sampling for benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING � <br /> Groundwater monitoring was performed on July 27, 1995 The depth to groundwater beneath the site <br /> ranged from 46 88 to 48 93 feet below grade The groundwater flow direction at the time of <br /> measurement was generally to the east-southeast at hydraulic gradients ranging from approximately <br /> 0 003 to 0 009 feet per foot A groundwater gradient map for July 27, 1995 is presented on Figure 2 <br /> Groundwater monitoring data for the reporting period are summarized in Table 1 Historical <br /> groundwater monitoring data are included in Attachment A <br /> Ground Zero had previously monitored groundwater elevations in well MW4 in April, May and June <br /> of 1995 to track relative groundwater elevation trends The shallow water table beneath the site reached <br /> a high of approximately -41 18 feet, relative to mean sea level, in well MW4 (45 77 feet below grade) <br /> on May 22, 1995 Depth to water measurements in well MW4 between April and June 1995 are <br /> included in Attachment B By comparison, the groundwater elevation in well MW4 was -46 41 on <br /> September 27, 1994 and -42 50 on July 27, 1995 Overall, groundwater elevations rose an average of <br /> 3 90 feet between September 1994 and July 1995 <br /> l <br /> groundLeSknowies haml3gmr1995 Cpl <br />
