E � <br /> :w HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation <br /> r January 23, 2002 <br /> y <br /> Mr Joe Aldridge <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 685 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Fourth Quarter 2002 <br /> Beacon Station No 3641 <br /> 1210 East Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Aldridge <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this report which documents results of <br /> fourth quarter 2002 groundwater monitoring at the subject site located in San Joaquin County <br /> as shown on Figure 1 There are currently eight groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 <br /> through MW-8), eight vapor wells (VW-1 through VW-8) and one sparge well (SW-1) <br /> associated with the site (Figure 2) The wells are located on site except for monitoring wells <br /> MW-2 and MW-8 <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Doulos Environmental Company <br /> (Doulos) on December 26 2002 according to Ultramar Field Procedures (Attachment A) <br /> Monitoring activities included measurement of static groundwater level, purging groundwater <br /> from the wells, collection of groundwater samples, and preparation and delivery of the <br /> samples to the analytical laboratory <br /> The depth to groundwater was measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the tap-of-casing <br /> (TOC) in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8, sparge well SW-1 and vapor wells VW-1, <br /> VW-3, VW-5 and VW-7 Vapor wells VW-2, VW-4, VW-6 and VW-8 were dry The <br /> physical parameters conductivity, pH and temperature of the groundwater were monitored <br /> with field instrumentation during the purging process The visual characteristics of the <br /> groundwater were also noted during the purging process Field groundwater level Vid purge <br /> data were recorded on the Doulos Groundwater Level Data and Sampling Information Sheets <br /> (Attachment B) <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from the eight monitoring wells, the sparge well and <br /> four vapor wells The groundwater samples were submitted, under chain-of-custody <br /> documentation, to Kiff Analytical (Kiff), a California-certified analytical laboratory (ELAP <br /> No 2236) located in Davis, California and were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline (TPHg), the volatile aromatic compounds benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway Suite 7 • EI Dorado Hills CA 95762 • (916) 939-2170 • FAX (916) 939-2172 <br /> PO Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 (661) 589-8389 • FAX (661) 589-1456 <br />
