r HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> '1 Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing, Design and Operation <br /> 401 �— <br /> October 30, 2001 <br /> Mr Joe Aldridge <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 685 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Third Quarter 2001 <br /> Beacon Station No 3641 <br /> 1210 East Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Aldridge <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this report which documents results of <br /> third quarter 2001 groundwater monitoring at the subject site located in San Joaquin County <br /> as shown on Figure 1 There are currently eight groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 <br /> through MW-8), eight vapor wells (VW-I through VW-8) and one sparge well (SW-1) at the <br /> site (Figure 2) All wells are located on site except for monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-8 <br /> The former and current underground storage tank (UST) locations are in the west central <br /> portion of the site <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Doulos Environmental Company <br /> (Doulos) on 27 September 2001 according to Ultramar Field Procedures (Attachment A ) <br /> Monitoring activities included measurement of static groundwater level, purging <br /> groundwater from the wells, collection of groundwater samples, and preparation and <br /> delivery of the samples to the analytical laboratory Vapor wells VW-2, VW-4, VW-5, VW- <br /> 6 and VW-8 were dry <br /> The depth to groundwater was measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top-of-casing <br /> (TOC) in monitoring wells MW-I through MW-8, sparge well SW-I and vapor wells VW-I, <br /> VW-3, and VW-7 The physical parameters conductivity, pH and temperature of the <br /> groundwater were monitored with field instrumentation during the purging process The <br /> visual characteristics of the groundwater were also noted during the purging process Field <br /> groundwater level and purge data were recorded on the Doulos Groundwater Level Data <br /> and Sampling Information Sheets (Attachment B) <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from all eight monitoring wells, the sparge well and <br /> three of the eight vapor wells The groundwater samples were submitted, under chain-of- <br /> custody documentation, to Kiff Analytical (Kiff), a California-certified analytical laboratory <br /> (ELAP No 2236) located in Davis, California The groundwater samples were analyzed for <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway Suite 7 .
