1 <br /> HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment,Remedial Testing,Design and Operation <br /> January 15, 2001 � <br /> Mr Joe Aldridge -- <br /> Ultramar Inc FEB 2 0 1001 <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 ENV1RU1111ViLi\1 i r,_�-,i_TH <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Fourth Quarter 2000 <br /> Beacon Station No 3641 <br /> 1210 East Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Aldridge <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this report documenting the results of <br /> fourth quarter 2000 groundwater monitoring at the subject site located in San Joaquin <br /> County as shown on Figure 1 There are currently eight groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-1 through MW-8), eight vapor wells (VW-I through VW-8) and one sparge well (SW- <br /> 1) at the site (Figure 2) All wells are located on site except for monitoring wells MW-2 and <br /> MW-8 The former and current underground storage tank (UST) locations are in the west <br /> central portion of the site <br /> i <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Doulos Environmental Company <br /> (Doulos) on December 12, 2000 Monitoring activities included measurement of static <br /> groundwater level, purging groundwater from the wells, collection of groundwater samples, <br /> and preparation and delivery of the samples to the analytical laboratory Vapor wells VW-2, <br /> VW-4, VW-6 and VW-8 were dry Ultramar Inc (Ultramar) Field Procedures are presented <br /> as Attachment A, and Doulos Sampling Information Sheets are included as Attachment B <br /> The depth to groundwater was measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top-of-casing <br /> (TOC) in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8, sparge well SW-1 and vapor wells VW-1, <br /> VW-3, VW-5 and VW-7 Field groundwater level data were recorded on the Doulos <br /> Groundwater Level Data and Sampling Information Sheets, and are summarized in Table I <br /> Field groundwater monitoring well purge data are included on Doulos Sampling Information <br /> Sheets The physical parameters conductivity, pH and temperature were monitored with <br /> field instrumentation during the purging process The visual characteristics of the <br /> groundwater were also noted during the purging process <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from all eight monitoring wells, the sparge well and <br /> four of the eight vapor wells The groundwater samples were submitted, under chain-of- <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway, Suite 7 • EI Dorado Hills, CA 95762 • (916) 939-2170 • FAX (916) 939-2172 <br /> P O Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 (661) 589-8389 a FAX (661) 589-1456 J <br /> 1 <br />
