i <br /> HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing, Design and Operation <br /> �r <br /> • <br /> February 16, 2000 <br /> Mr Joe Aldridge <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> Subject QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br /> Fourth Quarter- 1999 <br /> Beacon Station No 641 <br /> 1210 East Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Aldridge <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Report which presents results for the fourth quarter 1999 monitoring activity for the above- <br /> referenced site (Figure 1) There are currently five groundwater-monitoring wells (MW-1 <br /> through MW-5), eight vapor wells (VW-1 through VW-4 and VE-5 through VE-8) and one <br /> sparge well (SW-1) associated with this site Wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, and MW-5 are <br /> onsite groundwater monitoring wells, while well MW-2 is an offsite groundwater <br /> monitoring well (Figure 2) <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Doulos Environmental Company (Doulos) obtained depth-to-groundwater measurements <br /> from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5, sparge well SW-1, and vapor wells VW-1, <br /> VW-3, VW-5, and VW-7 on December 9, 1999 (see Table 1) Static groundwater levels <br /> were measured from the top-of-casing (TOC) of each well and recorded to the nearest 0 01- <br /> foot Water level measurements were subtracted from reference TOC elevations to obtain <br /> groundwater elevations, as listed in Table 1 Ultramar Field Procedures are presented as <br /> Attachment A, and Doulos Sampling Information Sheets are included as Attachment B <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from all five groundwater monitoring wells, the sparge <br /> well, and four of the eight vapor wells Locations of the wells are shown with other <br /> pertinent site features on the attached Site Map (Figure 2) The collected samples were <br /> submitted under chain-of-custody protocol to Kiff Analytical (Kaff), a California Department <br /> of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory (ELAN No 2236) located in Davis, <br /> California The groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> i gasoline (TPHg), the volatile aromatics benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes <br /> (BTEX), the five fuel oxygenates methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), diisopropyl ether <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway Suite 7 • El Dorado Hills, CA 95762 • (916) 939-2170 • FAX (916) 939-2172 <br /> P 0 Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 • (661) 589-8389 • FAX (661) 589-1456 <br />
