ML HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment,Remedial Testing,Design and Operation <br /> i October 12, 1998 <br /> Mr Joe Aldridge <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 3 <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> z <br /> Subject QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br /> Third Quarter- 1998 <br /> Beacon Station No 641 <br /> 1210 East Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Aldridge <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Report which presents results for the third quarter 1998 monitoring activity for the above- <br /> referenced site (Figure 1) There are currently five groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 <br /> through MW-5) and one sparge well (SW-1) associated with this site Wells MW-1, MW-3, <br /> MW-4, and MW-5 are onsite monitoring wells, while MW-2 is an offsite monitoring well <br /> (Figure 2) <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Depth-to-groundwater measurements were obtained from all the monitoring wells by Doulos <br /> Environmental (Doulos) on September 8, 1998 (see Table 1) Static groundwater levels <br /> were measured from the top-of-casing (TOC) of each well and recorded to the nearest 0 01- <br /> foot Water level measurements were subtracted from reference TOC elevations to obtain <br /> groundwater elevations, as listed in Table 1 Ultramar Field Procedures are presented as <br /> Attachment A, and Doulos Sampling Information Sheets are included as Attachment B <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from all five monitoring wells Collected samples <br /> were submitted under chain-of-custody (COC) to Kiff Analytical (KAD, a California <br /> Department of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory (ELAN No 2236) located in <br /> Davis, California Groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline (TPHg) utilizing modified Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8015, <br /> and for the volatile aromatics benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX) and the <br /> fuel oxygenates methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), tert-butanol (TBA), methanol and <br /> ethanol utilizing EPA Methods 8020 and 8260B The laboratory results are summarized in <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway Suite 7 .
