(See CPT logs) -Soils between the water-bearing lenses may or may not be saturated. -The groundwater is expected to be contaminated,while the unsaturated soils are expected tabe clean. -Continuous coring is proposed in an effort to identify contaminated or saturated soils above the water-bearing zone being screened. Screened intervals are subject to change (in 1-foot increments)depending upon the findings of the continuous coring. Continuous coring will be aborted (after 2 or 3 borings)should the findings not provide any valuable data- - Please provide: estimated volume of soil cuttings cost estimate for development of the monitoring wells drums for soil and water containment estimated duration for the field effort steam cleaning of equipment between boreholes \v brass sleeves, plastic caps, and teflon for soil sampling -Assume that we have a water supply at the site and a forklift. -Keep in mind that we will want to try to segregate(if possible)the dry (clean)and saturated (dirty)soil cuttings during drilling. - -We are counting on your experiences at Sharpe Army Depot to help in this field effort. Subsurface conditions should be very similar. -See the attached proposed monitoring well schematic for construction details.
