Closure Summary Report
Fire Station #7
1767 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
At the request, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the enclosed Closure
Summary Report(CSR) for the former underground storage tank (UST) area at 1767 West Hammer
Lane, Stockton, California(the site). The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1. A plan of the
site is illustrated on Figure 2.
This report was prepared in accordance with guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank
(UST) sites established by both the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental
Health Division (PHS-EHD) and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
_ (CVRWQCB).
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
The site is located in an area of low topographic relief utilized for residential and commercial use
in north Stockton, California, at an approximate elevation of 15 feet above mean sea level. The site
is bounded on the north by a school, on the south by Hamner Lane, and on the east by a road way
and further on by residents, and on the west by a public park. The property was formerly occupied
by the City of Stockton - Fire Prevention Department Station Number Seven.
2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
One 500-gallon diesel UST and the associated product piping were removed from the site on 09
March 1994. One soil sample was collected from beneath the UST at depth of 13 feet below surface
grade (bsg) and a second soil sample was collected from the north edge of the UST excavation at a
depth of 7 feet bsg. The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel
(TPH-d) and volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes: BTEX).
TPH-d was detected in the sample collected from the floor of the excavation at 4,140 parts per
million: ppm(milligrams per kilogram: mg/kg); ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in the same
sample at concentrations of 3.2 ppm and 8.6 ppm, respectively. TPH-d was detected in the sample
collected from the side wall of the excavation at 1,880 ppm, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected
in the sample at concentrations of 0.03 ppm and 0.11 ppm, respectively. Table 1 depicts analytical
results of soil and water samples collected from the site.
Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc.
