Hammer, Stockton CA 95210-0368
SITE CODE 1128
Dear Ms. Thayer,
You have requested that our client, Toyota Town, test the area
around the used oil drain pipes in the shop to ensure that used
oil has not leaked from the pipes which were connected to an
underground tank which has subsequently been removed. You have
requested that Toyota Town create five (5) exploratory borings to
make this determination. We propose the following:
According to Toyota Town management, the used oil supply pipe was
placed in the soil approximately twelve ( 12 ) inches below the
concrete surface of the shop. There are two supply pipes, one on
the west side of the shop and one in the center of the shop which
move downgrade from north to south where they were previously
connected in a T-coupling to the tank.
The pipes have subsequently been filled and sealed with concrete.
Two (2) borings will be accomplished on the west ]side which was
least used and three (3) borings will be accomplished in the
center of the shop. The borings will be accomplished at a depth
of two (2) feet, that is one (1) foot under the pipe. The bor-
ings will be placed four (4) inches from the pipe.
A concrete saw will be used to remove the concrete cap and a
hand auger will be used to remove the sample. Your presence is
requested at the time the samples are removed.
The samples will be placed in sterile containers with zero head
space and transported with a Certificate of Custody to a Califor-
nia State registered laboratory where a BTEX test will be per-
formed to determine if the soil contains any used oil constitu-
ents.
4175 E.
