AGE i
i
APPROVED Ll (With Conditions. See Below)
NOT APPROVED ❑ (A portion of this work plan is.not approved. See Below}
ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORKPLAN (H&S
25299.37,subd.(c)(3).):
1. Remove petroleum contamination impacted soil by over-excavation in the former
underground storage tank area to 25 feet below surface grade (bsg).
2. Shore up the proposed excavation area using sheet pilings to allow safe excavation to a
depth of 25 feet bsg.
' I Dewater the groundwater inside the excavation. The groundwater will be treated on site
using a 2,000-pound granular activated carbon (GAC)vessel, and will be discharged to
the City of Stockton sever system.
4. Segregate the excavated soil into "clean" overburden stockpiles},and"impacted"
stockpile(s).
5. Destroy monitoring well MW-2 by over--drilling before implementation of over-
excavation.
` 6. Characterize the stockpiles,and transport"impacted" stockpile(s) to h'orward Landfill.
4 r
' COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
t 1. , The sheet pilings used for the shoring of the excavation must be long enough an
driven deep enough to safely support the weight of the excavator(s) and allow
excavation to a depth of 25 feet bsg. EHD recommends having the excavation and
shoring design prepared by a properly qualified professional engineer, although this
agency does not review and approve such plans.
