The attached application for authorization of uncontrolled soil aeration was ' <br /> submitted to the San Joaquin Valley',Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJVUAPCD) for <br /> approval on June 1, 1993:The subsequent letter of,approval (613193) authorizing the uncontrolled <br /> soil aeration is attached for your information. The uncontrolled aeration of soil onsite began on <br /> June 19, 1993.- <br /> In a telephone conversation on July 8, 1993, Mary Meays of San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services (SJCPHS), gave Chevron permission to incorporate drill cuttings generated offsite to the <br /> existing soil aeration at the subject site.'Permission was given to Chevron provided that a letter was <br /> submitted to SJCPHS stating our intentions to aerate the five barrels of drill cuttings onsite and <br /> providing the drill cutting analytical results. You will find attached a copy of the composite soil <br /> analytical results for the drill cuttings that were generated during-site assessment work associated <br /> with the former Chevron site at 45 E.`Harding.Way, Stockton, CA. The drill cuttings will .be <br /> spread onsite, aerated, and sampled under the supervision of SJCPHS before being returned to the <br /> open tankpit onsite as backfill. <br /> Chevron's consultant, Touchstone, will be onsite.to take one discrete soil sample for-every 20 <br /> cubic yards of aerated soil. Soil sampling will be performed under the supervision of SJCPHS. <br /> Collected soil samples will be submitted to a state certified laboratory to be analyzed for TPHGas <br /> and BTEX constituents. Chevron will`provide all soil analytical results to SJCPHS for review..As <br /> soon as approval is received from SJCPHS, Chevron will proceed to backfill the existing tankpit <br /> onsite with the aerated soils.
