GRANITE CONSTRUCTION FACILITY <br /> WKA No 2088 08 <br /> August 18, 1999 <br /> Page 5 <br /> Subsurface soils encountered in soil boring B 18 consisted of silty sand to a depth of at least 18 <br /> feet,underlain by a clayey silt to a depth of at least 20 feet Subsurface soils encountered in <br /> MW7 and MW8 primarily consisted of silty fine sands and clayey silts No soil discoloration or <br /> petroleum odor were noted during the drilling activities <br /> Analytical results revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH or BTEX in soil samples <br />' collected from B 18, MW7, and MW8 No elevated concentrations of total lead were detected in <br /> soil samples collected from boring B18 and monitoring wells MW7 and MW8 Results of <br />' laboratory analysis of soil samples obtained from boring B 18, MW7, and MW8 are summarized <br /> in Table 5 Copies of soil boring logs are provided in Appendix A <br />' On January 23, 1995, water samples were collected from monitoring wells MW7 and MW8 <br /> Analytical results of the ground water samples collected from the newly constructed monitoring <br /> wells MW7 and MW8 revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH or BTEX <br /> On March 11, 1997, FGL Environmental Analytical Chemists collected one sample of the water <br /> produced by the on-site domestic water well The water sample was collected from the <br /> 1 breakToom sink and analyzed for bacteriological and petroleum hydrocarbon constituents The <br /> domestic water sample did not reveal any elevated or detectable concentrations of coliform or <br />' BTEX constituents <br /> Ouarterly Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling <br /> Groundwater was monitored and sampled from March 23, 1993 to December 17, 1998 Depth to <br />' groundwater beneath the site has fluctuated from 3130 feet in October 7, 1994 to 15 2S feet bsg <br /> in December 17, 1998 Groundwater flow direction has primarily been to the northwest with <br /> hydraulic gradients ranging from 0 001 feet/foot to 0 004 feet/foot TPH as gasoline, diesel, and <br /> motor oil and BTEX have not been detected in wells MW4, MW5, MW6, MW7, or MW8 since <br />' May 11, 1995 Petroleum hydrocarbons have not been detected in wells MW1 and MW2 during <br /> the last two sampling events (June 1997 and December 1998) <br /> The latest groundwater monitoring and sampling event performed on December 17, 1998, <br /> indicated that the groundwater flow direction was to the southwest with a hydraulic gradient of <br /> 000 <br /> 1 WALLACE•KUHL <br /> Recy&dpape Er ASSOCIATES INC, <br />
