Please provide a diagram of the
well.
Pressure grouting is not required.
Grouting up from the bottom of the boring with a tremie pipe is required, if the well is greater
than 30' deep or if there is water in the boring.
The preferred grout is neat cement.
The Master File Record should be good as long as there were no changes. That is if it has
the same owner, contractor and billable party, no new fee would be required.
The total fees would be $500. The $375 inspection activities fee plus the $125 MM
Destruction Permit fee add up to $500.
Give me a heads up when you are getting close to submitting the permit.
The work load is piling up over here. Already next week and the week of August 6th are
booked up.
Johnny Yoakum
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
From: Hutto, Chani [mailto:chani.hutto@urs.com]
Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 11:01 AM
To: John Yoakum [EH]
Subject: San Lorenzo Lumber-11800 S Harlan Rd-Well abandonment permit
Hi Johnny,
I will be submitting a permit and workplan to abandon the monitoring well at 11800 South Harlan
road. I spoke with you about the proper procedures back in April, but wanted to verify the
procedures before submitting the workplan to you.
We sampled this well in March and found TCE at 2.5 ug/L. Based on this detection, the County
requires us to overdrill then pressure grout the well to about 5 feet bgs and mushroon cap to
approximately 3 feet bgs. Correct?
7/27/2012
