The letter was prepared in response to the SECOR workplan dated October 17, 2006. The purpose of the work plan was to present the plan for conducting the required feasibility testing. The results of this test will be used to determine if biosparging is an appropriate remedial alternative for ARCO Service Station 548. The previously submitted work plan contained a summary of previous site assessments, a summary of known sensitive receptors in the area, and a description of the current status of the dissolved-phase plumes. This revised work plan details the scope of work proposed for the biosparging feasibility testing. SITE DESCRIPTION The site is located at the southwest corner of West Hammer Lane and Brentwood Drive in the City of Stockton, California (Figure 1 ). The site was formerly operated as an ARCO Service Station and AM/PM mini-mart. The site currently operates as a Valero gasoline service station and mini-mart. Current site facilities include four underground storage tanks (USTs); two pump islands, associated product lines and dispensers, and a convenience store. PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK The proposed scope of work included in this work plan consists of collecting baseline data, operating the biosparging system, and a plan for evaluating the effectiveness of biosparging at ARCO 548. The locations of the air sparge (AS) wells are shown on Figure 2. The wells are located near and downgradient of the USTs in areas of the maximum concentrations.
