SJCIEHD approves
the installation of three wells as outlined in the Work Plan"
Based on the currently known dissolved plume distribution and inferred groundwater flow
directions, SJCIEHD recommends the following modifications:
1. Move proposed well MW-10 laterally further toward the southeast to increase the
likelihood of defining a southern plume margin lateral to VW-3.
2. Install two additional wells, one near MW-2 and one on the order of approximately
30 feet north of MW-7, to define the shallow plume down gradient from VW-4.
If your consultant agrees with these recommendations, please submit a work plan addendum
promptly and SJCIEHD can approve it in time to include it in the currently approved scope of work.
Please proceed with submittal of a San Joaquin County Well Permit Application, required $89.00
permit fee, copies of required access agreements and/or encroachment permits for offsite work,
and with scheduling the approved work. Deadline for final implementation of the Work Plan is
August 31, 2007. A report of findings is due for submittal within 60 days of completion of all
fieldwork. SJCIEHD recommends obtaining an access agreement for possibly locating up gradient
well (MW-11)off site, in the event that onsite access limitations prevent installing it at the proposed
location.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
