"�V(2moa <br /> 1433 North Market Boulevard • Sacramento Colrforr i8 �1 1943 • (916)928-3300• Fox(916)928-3341 <br /> 'E r1 <br /> �r1 a��'f J rl r 9 1{J• <br /> . 6 November 14, 1995 <br /> Protect 0805-140 03 <br /> Ms Mary Meays <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> Re Addendum to the Interim Soil Remediation PIan and Well Installation Workplan <br /> Associated with the Removal and Replacement of the Underground Storage Tanks <br /> and Product Delivery Lines for ARCO Service Station No 548, Located at <br /> 1612 Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Meays- <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), EMCON has prepared this <br /> addendum to the Interim Soil Remediation Plan (ISRP) and well installation workplan <br /> . associated with the removal and replacement of the underground storage tanks (USTs) and <br /> product delivery lines for the subject site (see Figure 1) Based on the meeting conducted <br /> on October 30, 1995, between an EMCON representative, an ARCO representative, and a <br /> representative of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), SJCPHS <br /> raised some issues regarding the ISRP that needed to be addressed prior to initiating field <br /> work The following addresses the issues raised by SJCPHS and presents EMCON's <br /> revised scope of work <br /> • EMCON will only collect soil samples beneath the USTs and will not perform <br /> additional soil overexcavation beneath the former UST Therefore, no sidewall <br /> samples will be collected <br /> • Soil generated from the former tank cavity, product dispenser island, and new <br /> tank cavity will be used to backfill the old tank cavity Therefore, no additional <br /> imported soil will be necessary If warranted, EMCON will obtain the necessary <br /> permits from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board to <br /> discharge waste to land In addition, any soil remaining from the new tank <br /> excavation will be disposed of at an appropriate landfill <br /> • EMCON will collect composite soil samples from stockpiled soil at a 4 to 1 ratio <br /> (requirement at BFI Landfill) for every 100 cubic yards of soil to evaluate <br /> disposal options <br /> ' • The general contractor will import clean soil to backfill the former waste oil tank <br /> SACNN\PJ4MOM051400 3BS-95\pas 1 <br />
