��AMWAW-WAW—M <br /> • Working To Restore Nature <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916) 852-6690 <br /> Fax (916)852-6688 <br /> January 29, 1993 <br /> Mr Chuck Carmel <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> P O Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 <br /> Subject Addendum to Work Plan for a Subsurface Environmental Investigation at <br /> ARCO Service Station No 548, 1612 Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Carmel <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), RESNA Industries (RESNA) is <br /> • submitting this addendum to Work Plan No 30004-4W, dated August 8, 1991 The <br /> additional work will be conducted to delineate the lateral extent of residual hydrocarbons <br /> in soil and dissolved hydrocarbons in ground water beneath the site The location of the site <br /> is shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate 1) <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> RESNA (formerly Applied GeoSystems) conducted a Preliminary Tank Replacement <br /> Assessment investigation in October 1990 to evaluate soil for the presence of hydrocarbons <br /> (Applied GeoSystems, Inc , December 18, 1990, Report No 30004-2) During this <br /> investigation, five soil borings (B-1 through B-5) were drilled at the site Results of analyses <br /> indicated residual hydrocarbons were present in soil near the tank cavity <br /> In October 1991, RESNA conducted an investigation that included drilling nine soil borings <br /> and constructing four groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) and three <br /> vapor-extraction wells Residual hydrocarbons were analytically identified in soil samples <br /> collected from borings near the tank cavity and dispenser islands Dissolved gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons have been analytically identified in ground-water samples collected from <br /> monitoring well MW-1 but not in samples collected from the remaining wells <br /> . 30004-9W <br />
