SECOR www secor com <br /> S E C ® R INTERNATIONAL <br /> INCORPORATED 3017 Kilgore Road Suite 100 <br /> Rancho Cordova CA 95670 <br /> 916461-0400 TEL <br /> 916-661-0430 FAX <br /> 01 <br /> September 22, 2004 <br /> Ms Victoria L McCartney D <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor S E P 2 3 2004 <br /> Stockton, California 95202-2708 <br /> ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> Re CPT Vertical Site Assessment Report PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Former BP Station #11193 <br /> 3202 West Hammer Lane <br /> Stockton, California <br /> SECOR Project No 77BP 50193 02 0446, 77CP 60193 01 0002 <br /> Dear Ms McCartney <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) has prepared this letter report, on behalf of <br /> ConocoPhillips and British Petroleum (BP), to document the completion of a vertical site <br /> assessment using Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) at the site listed above (Figure 1) <br /> • The objective of this work was to delineate the vertical extent of dissolved phase petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath the site This work was proposed in SECOR's <br /> Addendum to Revised Interim Remedial Action Plan and Work Plan for Ozone Sparge Well <br /> Installation and Additional Off-site Assessment dated March 29, 2004, and approved with <br /> conditions in a San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) letter <br /> received June 3, 2004 (Attachment 1) <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is situated in a mixed commercial/residential area on the southwest corner of West <br /> Hammer Lane and Kelley Drive in Stockton, California (Figure 1) The current station <br /> configuration consists of three 10,000-gallon double-walled (two gasoline and one diesel) <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs), two dispenser islands, associated product lines, and a <br /> station building In May, 2004 one of the 10,000 gallons USTs (previously utilized for <br /> gasoline) was converted for diesel storage, and the station began dispensing diesel fuel <br /> Historical files indicate that BP acquired the site from Mobil in May 1989 The gasoline <br /> service station operated under BP ownership until Tosco purchased the property in August <br /> 1994 Historical UST permit application information suggests that the site historically <br /> operated as a gasoline service station since at least 1978 (EMCON, 1994) T <br /> PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS AND REMEDIAL ACTION <br /> In April 1987, KEI observed the removal of one 1,000-gallon waste oil UST in the <br /> southwestern portion of the site One soil sample was collected from the base of the <br /> a <br /> r � <br /> r <br />
