1 <br /> ry t � <br /> SECOR www secor com <br /> INTERNATIONAL 3017 Kilgore Road Suite 100 <br /> S E C O R INCORPORATED Rancho Cordova CA 95670 <br /> • 916 861 0400 TEL <br /> 916 861 0430 FAX <br /> October 29, 2004 <br /> Ms Liz Sewell NOV 0 3 2004 <br /> ConocoPhillips ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> 76 Broadway PERMfT/SERVICES <br /> Sacramento, CA 95818 <br /> r <br /> RE Quarterly Remedial Performance Summary-Third Quarter 2004 <br /> Circle K Store No 011193 <br /> 3202 West Hammer Lane <br /> Stockton, California <br /> SECOR Project No 77CP 60004 01 0193/77BP 56193 02 0936 <br /> Dear Ms Sewell <br /> This letter, prepared by SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of ConocoPhllllps, <br /> presents a remedial action performance summary for the ozone Injection system operating at the site <br /> referenced above Included in this report are tables and figures summarizing the system operation <br /> during the current quarter Field data sheets and laboratory reports are included as Attachments A <br /> and B, respectively A brief site background and the status of recent remedial activities are presented <br /> below <br /> • SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is situated in a mixed commercial/residential area on the southwest corner of West Hammer <br /> Lane and Kelley Drive in Stockton, California The current station consists of three 12,000-gallon <br /> double-waited underground storage tanks (LISTS), two dispenser islands, associated product lines, <br /> and a station building Historical files indicate that British Petroleum (BP) acquired the site from <br /> Mobil in May 1989 The gasoline service station operated under BP ownership until Tosco <br /> purchased the property in August 1994 An ozone injection system was Installed by SECOR, and <br /> started up on May 25, 2004 <br /> REMEDIAL PERFORMANCE SUMMARY <br /> Ozone Infection Operation <br /> The ozone injection system consists of a panel mounted KVA C-SpargeTm System that produces 4 <br /> grams per hour (0 009 pounds per hour) of ozone The system injects to 10 sparge wells OZ-1 <br /> through OZ-10 The system is programmed to supply ozone for seven minutes per well, 18 cycles for <br /> day During the current quarter the system operated for 1,187 hours, resulting in 60% operation <br /> The system was found to be non-operational on July 29, 2004, due to the ozone sensor being <br /> tripped The compressor was leaking ozone, so the system was left down until the camp sser or was <br /> replaced on Augdst 19,2004 On September 16, 2004, the system was found to be non-operational <br /> due t0 the ozone sensor being tripped, it was reset and the system restarted System operational <br /> data is presented in Table 1 <br /> Ozone Injection Effectiveness <br /> Monthly groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-2R and MW-4 on July 29, <br /> 2004 and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX compounds), and methyl tert-butyl ether (MtBE) Wells VW- <br /> 1.
