• <br /> GETTLER - RYAN INC. <br /> April 19, 2000 <br /> APR 2 U 2000 <br /> Mr David J Camille ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> Tosca Marketing Company PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> 2000 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 400 <br /> San Ramon, California 94583 <br /> Subject: Interim Migration Control Plan <br /> Tosco (Former BP Oil) Station No. 11193 <br /> 3202 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Camille <br /> At the request of Tosco Marketing Company (Tosco), Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) has prepared this <br /> Interim Migration Control Plan (IMCP) for the subject site The work proposed was requested by <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) in a letter dated March 10, 2000 <br /> This IMCP outlines a timely and potentially effective remedial strategy, that uses existing facilities <br /> and a safe and cost-efficient groundwater disposal option GR proposes the removal of <br /> approximately 5,000 gallons of groundwater (combined total) from groundwater monitoring wells <br /> MW-1 and MW-2 on a weekly basis, to limit migration of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater and <br /> reduce dissolved hydrocarbon concentrations in the vicinity of the existing underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs) <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject site is situated at the southwest corner of West Hammer Lane and Kelly Drive in <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1) Current station facilities include two 12,000-gallon double-wall <br /> gasoline USTs,two dispenser islands, related product lines, one canopy, and a station building Four <br /> on-site groundwater monitoring wells (MW-2 through MW-5), one on-site vapor extraction well <br /> (VW-1), and two off-site groundwater monitoring wells (MW-6 through MW-7) are present at and in <br /> the vicinity of the site in addition, one destroyed on-site groundwater monitoring well (MW-1) is <br /> located near the UST complex Locations of the pertinent on-site features are shown on Figure 2 <br /> PROPOSED REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN <br /> GR is proposing the removal of approximately 5,000 gallons of groundwater weekly (combined total <br /> for both wells) from monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 as a migration control and remedial <br /> measure Both wells MW-1 and NIW-2 are to be reconstructed with 4-inch diameter well casings <br /> The specifics of the well constructions are presented in the Cambria Environmental Technologies, <br /> • Inc (Cambria) report Supplemental Investigation Work Plan, dated February 25, 2000 This <br /> remedial option uses existing Tosco facilities for treatment and disposal of effluent groundwater, <br /> thereby eliminating exposure risks and other negative impacts of on-site treatment of hydrocarbon <br /> 6747 Sierra Court , Suite J Dublin , California 94568 ( 925) 551 -7555 <br />
