'A site vicinity map is shown in:Figure'1. <br /> 1.YI Purpose and Scope of Work <br /> Y <br /> This work was performed to assess the nature and extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the <br /> subsurface soil and groundwater at the site, and to determine the appropriate course of <br /> .' action to comply with applicable,laws and-regulations. <br /> The tasks performed during this supplemental assessment included the following: <br /> • Drilled and logged three exploratory soil borings and collected soil samples. <br /> ' • ,Installed groundwater Monitoring Wells NW-5;MW-6, and MW-7.' <br /> • Developed and surveyed the monitoring wells and collected groundwater samples. <br /> • Analyzed the soil and groundwater samples for specific hydrocarbon`constituents. <br /> tEvaluated the field data and analytical results. <br /> • Prepared this report presenting the findings of the above tasks. <br /> The above tasks and related field and sampling activities were performed in accordance with <br /> the requirements of San.Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental"Health <br /> Division (SJCEHD), and the California Regional Water Quality Control,Board, Central Valley <br /> Region (RWQCB). <br /> ' ' 1.2it Location S e _ oc an and Description <br /> j The BP Oil site is on the southwest corner of the intersection of West Hammer Lane and <br /> Kelly Drive, Stockton, California...The site is an operating service station with three <br /> underground fuel storage tanks and one underground used oil-storage tank. Figure 2 show's <br /> _ the layout of the site and the locations of the underground fuel storage tanks and dispenser <br /> islands. <br /> . Properties neighboring the site are a mixture of residential and commercial developments. <br /> There is an Arco AM/PM service station approximately 30 feet to the west of the site and a <br /> Kwik-Kar Wash adjacent to and south of the site. <br /> ' 1.3' Project Background <br /> In December 1992, four groundwater monitoring wells, MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4, <br /> were installed onsite as part of a preliminary site investigation.
