Recall that this investigation was not prompted <br /> by knowledge of any releases from this facility. Rather, the work was performed to <br /> obtain chemical data in support of BP's planned divestment of retail properties acquired <br /> from Mobil during 1989. The data shows that variable concentrations of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in off-site and on-site groundwater monitoring wells. The <br /> highest concentrations of MTBE were found in samples obtained from monitoring wells <br /> located adjacent to the existing underground storage tanks.
