(Stratus), on your behalf for the above-referenced site. The
EHD had directed by letter dated 30 May 2013, the submittal of a scope of work proposal that
detailed the condition and construction of the wells and the methods and materials to be used to
destroy the wells.
In the work plan, Stratus proposes to drill out monitoring wells MWA through MW-5 and MW-7
usingeight-inch diameter augers, and nested injection wells IW-1A/B through IW-4 A/B using
9 9 , 1 9 9
either ten- or twelve-inch diameter augers (to be determined in the field). Stratus proposes to
seal the resulting boreholes to approximately six inches below surface grade (bsg) with neat
cement or a cement grout mixture consisting of no more than two parts by weight sand and one
part by weight cement in seven gallons of water using a tremie pipe.
Stratus proposes to destroy MW-6,,constructed with a conductor casing, by:
• Drilling out the well material inside and below the conductor casing to total depth of 64
feet bsg using eight-inch augers;
• Excavating the area around the conductor casing to approximately three feet bsg-and
approximately.27 inches in diameter before cutting off the steel conductor casing and
surrounding cement seal approximately six inches above_ the base of the excavation;
and
• Filling the borehole from total depth to at least one foot above the base of the excavation
with neat cement/cement grout.
