EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> - i <br /> Parkinson's Arco <br /> 3250 West Hammer Lane <br /> Stockton, California <br /> The site is located on West Hammer Lane east of Interstate 5 in.Stockton, California. <br /> The site is a privately owned Arco service station that has retailed gasoline fuel for <br /> approximately 14 years.. To comply with State regulations, the product lines.and_ <br /> dispensers are being upgraded. <br /> In accordance with the work plan on file with San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Department, Environmental Health Division(SJCPHD/EHD) dated January 10,2000 <br /> the following work will be performed: <br /> 1) perform limited excavation of hydrocarbon impacted soil; <br /> 2) sampling of soil beneath these facilities to evaluate the extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in soil at the subject site; <br /> 3) sampling of groundwater(if encountered). <br /> Work will be performed during weekday daylight hours. Earth moving equipment may <br /> include a backhoe, a loader,and other equipment as appropriate. Upon excavation, soil <br /> will be stockpiled onsite and covered with plastic for sampling and later disposal or <br /> reuse. Stockpiled soil removal will be completed within 10 to 30 business days. It is <br /> estimated that a maximum of 500 cubic yards of soil will be stockpiled. If stockpile soil <br /> is initially clean, the contractor may reuse it at some other location onsite other than <br /> disposing it at a suitable landfill,pending approval from SJCPHD/EHD. SJCPHD/EHD <br /> and IT Corporation(IT)representatives will observe excavation activities. Following <br /> completion of soil excavation the Site will be returned to a'.retail gasoline station. <br /> Soil samples will be collected and analyzed per SJCPHD/EHD requirements. Upon <br /> I; <br /> receipt of soil sample results, IT will,prepare and submit to SJCPHD/EI4D a letter <br /> report summarizing excavation activities and sampling results. Work is anticipated to <br /> commence during January 2000. <br />
