An approved contractor will be responsible for all construction activities associated with the <br /> product line replacement,including permitting,product line removal and disposal. The purpose <br /> of this Work Plan is to notify the San JoaquinCounty Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCPHS/EHD)of the intent of Parkinson's Arco to perform over excavation of soil impacted by <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons and briefly discuss the sampling procedures to be followed during the <br /> site activities. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located on West Hammer.Lane east of Interstate 5 in Stockton,California. The site is <br /> a privately owned Arco service station that has retailed gasoline fuel for approximately 14 years. <br /> The site currently contains three-10,000-gallon capacity gasoline underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs)and associated product lines and dispensers. <br /> Product line upgrade was begun on January 7,-2000. Mr.Michael Kith with SJCPHS/EHD <br /> observed soil compliance sampling per the Tri Regional Board Staff Recommendations for <br /> Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites. Following the removal of <br /> dispenser plumbing soil obviously impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons was discovered below <br /> the western dispenser islands.
