(Stratus) has prepared this Work Plan for Ozone Bench-Scale Test <br /> and Injection Well.Installation, on behalf of Mr. Wesley Parkinson, for the property located at <br /> 3250 West Hammer Lane in the City of Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (the site; <br /> Figure 1). In October 2004, Shaw Environmental, Inc. (Shaw) submitted a Corrective Action <br /> Plan (CAP) recommending in-situ groundwater remediation using ozone (03) injection for the <br /> site. In May 2005, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) concurred <br /> with Shaw's recommendation to implement 03 injection at the site. <br /> In a letter dated June 30, 2008, SJCEHD directed the submittal of a work plan for 03 bench-scale <br /> testing to be conducted prior to implementation of the approved CAP. This work plan proposes <br /> the_performance of a bench-scale (laboratory) test for 03 using soil and groundwater collected <br /> from the site property. To facilitate the collection of soil required for the 03 bench-scale testing, <br /> Stratus proposes to install two 03 injection wells to be used during the next phase of 03 <br /> remediation testing (pilot-scale). A work plan detailing the pilot-scale testing procedures and <br /> protocols will be prepared and submitted to SJCEHD under separate cover, once the bench-scale <br /> testing is complete. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The property is situated on the south side of West Hammer Lane, immediately east of <br /> Interstate 5, in the northern portion of the City of Stockton, California. The property is an <br /> operational gasoline service station and convenience store (branded with ARCO gasoline <br /> products). Gasoline is dispensed at the facility from two fuel-dispensing islands situated in the <br /> north-central portion of the property.
