i <br /> � I <br /> Mr Sam Savig Project No 880-040 1 <br /> February 21, 2002 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Excavation areas were selected based upon the results of January 7, 2000 sampling <br /> Excavation was restricted laterally by concrete canopy footings and asphalt surfacing <br /> Maximum excavation depth was 10 feet bgs due to close proximity of groundwater <br /> Results of soil sampling and excavation were reported in IT's Product Lane Upgrade and <br /> Soil Excavation Report dated March 15, 2000 The San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS/EHD)requested further delineation <br /> of soil and groundwater impacts in their April 24, 2000 letter <br /> A total of five Geoprobe° borings (GP-1 through GP-5) were completed on <br /> August 15 and 16, 2000 using a direct push rig The borings were advanced to <br /> groundwater at which time a discrete water sample was collected Following <br /> groundwater sample collection the borings were continued to a maximum depth of <br /> 3 0 feet bgs <br /> . On September 6, 2000, three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) <br /> were installed as shown on Figure 1 The well locations were selected based on results <br /> of the Geoprobe° investigation <br /> The SJCPHS/EHD requested a work plan to define the vertical and lateral extent of soil <br /> and groundwater contamination and determine an interim remedial alternative to control <br /> the off-site migration of MtBE On December 12, 2001, a work plan was submitted <br /> describing the implementation of a 5-day dual phase extraction event, the installation of <br /> two down gradient wells, and one deep soil boring The work plan was approved by the <br /> SJCPHS/EHD on December 31, 2001 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING RESULTS <br /> On January 28, 2002, groundwater samples and water level data were collected from <br /> monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 The groundwater monitoring event was <br /> coordinated with the Blaine Tech Environmental to coincide with the 76 Station <br /> monitoring east of the site Groundwater samples were analyzed for the presence of total <br /> SAC 1N IsacDP120021PR31Pi8188018800401A 2aadoc-01l4 1 rr CORPORATION <br /> (01070000) <br />
