t <br /> Ms Vicki McCartney Project No 880040 lA 02010000 <br /> ' June 10, 2005 <br />' Page 2 <br /> Due to close proximity of groundwater, the maximum excavation depth was <br /> approximately 10 feet bgs <br /> IIn August 2000, five Geoprobe borings (GP-1 through GP-5) were made by <br /> direct-push The borings were advanced to groundwater and a discrete water sample <br /> was collected Following groundwater sample collection, the bonngs were continued to a <br /> maximum depth of 30 feet bgs <br /> In September 2000, three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) were <br /> 1 installed at locations selected based on the Geoprobe investigation results (Figure 1) <br /> Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling was initiated via these wells in <br /> September 2000 <br /> In May 22 and 23 2002 Shaw drilled one dee soil boring and installed monitoring <br /> y P g g <br /> wells (MW-4 and MW-5) in two other borings A dual phase extraction (DPE) test was <br /> conducted from June 10 through 15, 2002 The DPE test was conducted by <br /> simultaneously extracting soil vapor and groundwater from well MW-1 <br /> On September 2 and 3, 2003, Shaw observed the advancement of four cone penetration <br /> I test (CPT) borings Discrete groundwater samples collected from HydroPunch® borings <br /> madeadjacent to the CPT borings indicated the presence of methyl tert-butyl ether <br /> (MTBE) in groundwater northeast of the site, and that the vertical extent of MTBE <br /> appeared to be limited to within approximately 30 feet of the ground surface <br /> Routine groundwater monitoring has been performed at the site since September 2000 <br /> There are five groundwater monitoring wells at the site, all with total depths of <br /> approximately 24 feet <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br />' On April 18, 2005, groundwater samples and depth-to-water data were collected from <br /> monitoring wells MW-I through MW-5 Groundwater samples were analyzed for the <br /> presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, <br />'I SHAW ENVIRONMENTAL,INC <br /> N\sac DP1200511rj188W800401A 5Adoc <br />
