Box 2009
ES
Stockton, CA 95201
Attention: Mr. Steven K. Schneider, R.E.H.S.
Environmental Health Specialist
Subject: Work Plan, Safety Plan and C-57 License for Monitoring Well Permit
For Additional Work at Quik Stop Market No. 132
3555 West Hammer Lane,Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Schneider.
As we discussed during our phone conversation of November 18, 1992, RESNA Industries Inc.,
(RESNA) and Quik Stop Markets, Inc., have been communicating with Mr. Ronald D. Slate of
Taco Bell. The purpose of these communications have been to obtain permission to enter his
property to install two groundwater monitoring wells. In order to expedite this process, you stated
that we could atnmend our existing work and safety plan instead of developing new ones. These
ammendments are provided below.
Ammended Work Plan
RESNA proposes to ammend its previously submitted work plan (submitted under our former
name of Exceltech,Inc.)entitled: Phase III Work Plan for Soil and Groundwater Investigation at
Quik Stop Market No. 132, 3555 W.Hammer Lane, Stockton, California dated October 30, 1990
as detailed below.
Two monitoring wells will be installed on the adjacent Taco Bell property. As we do not know the
extent of a perched aquifer encountered on the Quik Stop Market property,we are uncertain of the
design of the wells at this time. If the perched aquifer is encountered,we estimate that the well will
be approximately 20 feet deep. If this is the case, the upper 10 feet will be solid polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) casing and the lower 10 feet will be slotted PVC casing. If the perched aquifer is not
encountered, we estimate that the well will be approximately 30 feet deep. If this is the case, the
upper 20 feet will be solid PVC casing and the lower 10 feet will be slotted PVC casing. Boring
depths and monitoring well designs will be determined by the on-site RESNA geologist as
conditions indicate. Soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPHG) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes(BTEX).
In addition, groundwater samples from the two new wells will be analyzed for fecal coliform as
required by San Joaquin County Public Health Services.
