r Environmental Solutions
Through Applied Science,
41674 Christy Street Engineering&Construction
1 Fremont, CA 94538
Phone: (510) 659-0404
Fax: (510) 651-4677
December 4, 1991
Project No. 3-49132-31
Mr. Ronald D. Slate, Trustee
i 1717 South Stockton Street
I Lodi, CA 95240
Subject: Environmental Investigation
Quik Stop Market No. 132
3555 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California
' Dear Mr. Slate:
As we notified you in our letter dated October 7, 1991, RESNA Industries, Inc, (RESNA) is
currently performing environmental investigations required by the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services Environmental Health Division, on behalf of Quik Stop Markets, Inc. (Quik Stop).
Information obtained from previous investigations has indicated that contamination on the Quik Stop
{ property may be migrating to the soil and/or groundwater beneath your property. In order to conduct
these investigations to determine the extent of the migration, if any, it will be necessary to obtain
groundwater samples from beneath nearby properties, including yours.
The investigation that we have proposed, is performed by introducing a 3/4-inch-diameter pipe
through a 1- to 1-1/2-inch-diameter hole drilled through the concrete or asphalt surface into the
subsurface soil until groundwater is encountered. A sample of the groundwater is then obtained, the
pipe withdrawn, the hole is backfilled with granulated bentonite to near the original surface covering
and then capped with asphalt or concrete depending on the surface covering. This procedure is
routine and RESNA will conduct it in a safe and expeditious manner. Quik Stop Markets will repair
any damage (beyond the patched probe access holes) to your property caused by this investigation.
1 Please sign and return one original copy of the attached permission sheet. An additional copy is
+ provided for your records. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call.
Sincerely,
RESNA Industries, Inc.
? .
Richard A.
