Hammer Lane,Stockton, California
Exceltech Project No. 349132-31
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
In you letter, referenced above, you posed serval questions regarding our draft report on this site.
In response to you questions, please note that this report was a preliminary draft report of an
ongoing investigation.
1. Stamp and Signature of a Certified Geologist.
We were requested to issues this report in a very short time frame. The report was issued as a
draft report and did not go through a complete review, such reports are not normally signed.
Our final report which will be issued at the completion of our investigation will be stamped and
signed by a State of California Certified Engineering Geologist.
2. Perched Aquifer.
The possibility of there being a perched aquifer beneath the site is just a theory. We do not
have enough information at this time to make this determination and further investigation will
be necessary.
3. Monitoring Well Screened Interval.
After the exploratory borings were completed and monitoring well MW-1 was installed, an
examination and comparison of boring logs indicated the presence of a sandy unit located
beneath a silty clay which may serve as a confining layer. It was our immediate concern to
determine if this sandy unit was affected by the contamination observed at shallower depths.
The screened intervals of MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 were positioned across this sand. Further
investigations will include wells with the screened intervals positioned across the static water
level.
4. Fecal Coliform
At the time this job was planned, we were not aware of the sewer line which runs across the
site. After the installation of additional monitoring wells, all wells located within 50 feet of this
sewer line will be sampled and analyzed for fecal coliform.
Recyclable and made from recycled paper.
