Summarized field sampling procedures are as follows: <br /> 5 I. Proceed to first well with clean and decontaminated equipment. <br /> 2. Measurements of liquid surface(s) in the well, and total depth of <br /> monitoring well. Note presence of silt accumulation. <br /> 3. Field check for presence of floating product; measure apparent <br /> thickness. <br /> 4. Purge well prior to collecting samples; purge volume (casing <br /> volumes) calculated prior to removal. <br /> 5. Monitor groundwater for temperature, pH, and specific conductance <br /> during purging. Allow well to recover. <br /> 6. Collect samples using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <br /> approved sample collection devices, i.e., teflon or stainless steel <br /> bailers or pumps. <br /> 7. Transfer samples into laboratory-supplied EPA-approved containers. <br /> 8. Label samples and log onto chain-of-custody form. <br /> 9. Store samples in a chilled ice chest for shipment to a state-certified <br /> analytical laboratory. <br /> 10.
