Before and during drilling at the site, all drilling and sampling
equipment was cleaned to reduce the potential for cross-contamination between borings
and between sampling intervals.
Soil samples were collected through the hollow hstem eolo geologist. Wheat npthe desired sample
depth intervals or at the direction of the Excelte g g
depth was reached, a modified esllon lansplit-spoont tiein pdirameterpwas used to collect
brass liner tubes, each six inch g
and retain soil samples. The sampler was advanced IS inches into the undisturbed soils
ahead of the auger by driving it with a 140-pound, rig-operated hammer. After
_ and the sampler, the bottom sample liner was immediately
recovery from the borehole
covered with aluminum foil and a plas;.i intola coo
ller chilleded with a unique
with ice. The soil in
and pertinent sample information, and packed
the remaining sample liners was visually characterized and tested with a portable
organic vapor meter (OVM) for the presence fsoillwasepla$ediwithhe borehole
ors. Upon
completion of field characterization, the examined
cuttings.
Groundwater Monitoring Well Construction
Upon completion of the exploratory boreholes, a groundwater monitoring well was
constructed in the borehole.
