5
4.0 SUMMARY OF RESULTS
A summary of the analytical results from current and past well sampling is presented in Table
r 1. Based on the water-level data for August 23, 2001, ATC has interpreted the groundwater
gradient and flow direction for the upper aquifer as shown on Figure 3. In the upper aquifer
monitoring wells MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7, the groundwater elevation decreased from the
previousuarter an average of 0.91 feet, ranging from 0.084 feet in monitoring well MW-6 to
q g g g
1.02 feet in monitoring well MW-5. The apparent groundwater flow direction in the upper
aquifer was generally southeasterly at a gradient of approximately 0.003 (Figure 3).
Based on the water-level data for August 23, 2001 (Table 1), ATC has interpreted the
groundwater gradient and flow direction for the lower aquifer as shown on Figure 4. In the lower
aquifer monitoring wells MWAR, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, and MW-8, the groundwater level
decreased from the previous quarter an average of 0.76 feet, ranging from 0.63 feet in monitoring
wells MW-8 to 0.89 in MW-2. The apparent groundwater flow direction in the lower aquifer
was generally easterly at a gradient of approximately 0.002 (Figure 4).
ATC retained the services of Spectrum Exploration, of Stockton, California, to advance two soil
boreholes and install lower aquifer and upper aquifer groundwater monitoring wells MW-9 and
MW-10, respectively, on August 7, 2001. ATC retained Morrow Surveying, a California-
licensed surveyor, to survey the newly installed monitoring wells on August 29, 2001.
ILaboratory analysis of the water samples collected on August 23, 2001 indicate that TPH-G,
BTEX, and MTBE were not detected in groundwater samples collected from MW-3, MW-4 and
MW-9 in the local lower aquifer. TPH-G, MTBE and BTEX , with the exception of total xylenes,
concentrations dropped to below detection limits in'MW-8. In the local upper aquifer, TPH-G,
BTEX, and MTBE were not detected in groundwater samples collected from MW-6, MW-7 and
MW-10. TPH-G was detected in groundwater samples collected from MW-IR and MW-2 in the
lower aquifer and MW-5 in the upper aquifer. BTEX was not detected in any of the well samples
with the exception of low concentrations of benzene in MW-2 and total xylenes in MW-8.
J.Vu Progress%QU1KST4P'QS 1321RF.POR7'S1200113rdQrr2OOErpt,doc
