Quik Stop narket5"nc. Page A-3
ject No7132.32
I
In an effort to further delineate the off-site extent of contamination, RESNA and Quik Stop
Markets, with the approval of SJCPHS, elected to conduct a soil gas and shallow groundwater
survey along the eastern side of the Taco Bell site and that portion of West Hamner Lane which
fronts the Taco Bell site. This survey was conducted on April 29, 1992 with a specially equipped
van operated by Tracer Research Corporation (Tracer) of Tucson,Arizona, under the direction of a
RESNA geologist. The results of this survey indicated that the perched aquifer and the
contamination detected in it did not extend into the areas investigated in this survey. This would
suggest that the perched aquifer is limited in extent and isolated from the lower aquifer (RESNA
Industries Inc. July 1992).
In view of the information obtained in the Tracer survey, RESNA has recommended the
installation of two groundwater monitoring wells on the Taco Bell property. Obtaining access for
' the installation of the wells located on a Taco Bell property will require the assistance of the
SJCPHS. Scheduled quarterly groundwater sampling and analysis will continue.
I
iReferences
Exceltech, September 1990, Preliminary Soil and Groundwater Investigation at Quik Stop Market -
, No. 132, 3555 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California: unpublished technical report for
Quik Stop Markets, Inc.,Fremont, California.
Exceltech, November 1990, Termination of Excavation, Quik Stop 132, 3555 West Hammer
i
Lane, Stockton, California: unpublished technical report for Quik Stop Markets, Inc.,
Fremont, California.
Exceltech/RESNA, July 1991, Phase III Soil and Groundwater Investigation at Quik Stop Market
No. 132, 3555 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California: unpublished technical report for
Quik Stop Markets, Inc.,Fremont, California.
RESNA Industries Inc., July 1992, Soil Gas and Shallow Groundwater Survey for Quik Stop
Market No. 132, 3555 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California: unpublished technical
report for Quik Stop Markets, Inc.,Fremont, California.
'i
