Stockton, CA
Attached groundwater monitoring report(Blaine Tech,3/9/95)
Dear Ms. Meays:
Attached is a report dated March 9, 1995, which was prepared by Chevron's consultant, Blaine
Tech Services Inc. (Blaine Tech), to describe the results of groundwater monitoring which was
performed at the subject site on January 23, 1995.
During their January site visit Blaine Tech gauged and sampled seven of the fourteen site-related
wells. The remaining seven are completed above the present groundwater level. The measured
direction of groundwater flow was toward the northeast.
Groundwater samples were analyzed for the presence of TPHGas and BTEX constituents.
Detectable concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons were measured at wells MW-9, MW-11, MW-
13, and MW-14. Non-detect results were measured at wells MW-2R, MW-10, and MW-12. The
recent increase in groundwater elevation may have caused the slight increase in hydrocarbon
concentrations at MW-11 however, the overall trend in concentrations is still decreasing. This is
significant to point out as it supports the thought that biodegradation is active beneath the site. The
measured increase in hydrocarbon concentrations observed at well MW-13 were unusually high.
Subsequent monitoring results will be evaluated to confirm any trend that may be developing at this
location. However, it is also possible that groundwater concentrations at MW-13 are influenced by
an offsite source. Further investigation will be performed to clarify this possibility.
I look forward to meeting with you on April 12, 1995 to discuss our CAP.
