Stockton, CA
Attached tank removal report(Touchstone, 4/29/94)
i
ff
Dear Ms. Ratliff: I
Attached is a report dated April 29, 1994, which was prepared by Chevron's ,consultant,
Touchstone Developments (Touchstone), to describe the procedures and results of soil sampling
during the removal of a single underground storage tank (UST) at the subject site ori March 18,
1994. The single steel UST was discovered during previous site assessment work. I
Touchstone collected soil samples beneath the two ends of the UST. Soil samples were analyzed
for the presence of TPHD, TPHG, and BTEX constituents. Samples were also analyied for total
lead and EDB. Samples were non-detect for all analytes except, total lead. Detections of total lead
appeared to be representative of background levels.Soil samples collected from the generated
stockpile had similar analytical results. The stockpiled soil was reused onsite as backfill material
for the UST excavation. E
Also attached are copies of the hazardous waste manifests which accompanied the ofthauling of the
UST rinsate, the UST,and the associated steel vent piping.
If you have any questions or comments, I can be reached at(510) 842-8695.
Sincerely,
Brett L.
