PHS/EHD comments follow.
PHS/EHD agrees that additional soil and groundwater investigation is necessary to define the extent of
contamination and to establish the groundwater gradient. The work plan proposed five soil borings to
be completed as a vapor extraction well and as monitoring wells.
Fieldwork may begin upon receipt and issuance of drilling permits, applicable fees and access
agreements. Four PHS/EHD drilling permits are necessary for the proposed work:
one permit for the proposed on-site boring, vapor extraction well,
one permit for the proposed off-site monitoring well to the north of the site,
one permit for the proposed two off-site monitoring well to the east of the site, and
one permit for the proposed off-site monitoring well to the south of the site.
Please include in the next quarterly report a list of all reports which have been generated for this site.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the site, please contact Mary Meays, REHS, of my staff
at (209) 468-0337.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Offic
une A.
