(Blaine Tech),to describe the results of groundwater monitoring that was performed at
the subject site on February 7, 1997.
During their February site visit,Blaine Tech gauged and sampled all seven site-related wells. All
groundwater samples were analyzed for the presence of TPHGas,BTEX constituents, and MTBE. The
measured direction of groundwater flow was variable. There were detectable concentrations of dissolved
hydrocarbons measured at well MW-13 only. There were no contaminants detected in groundwater at the
remaining six wells. These data represent the last sampling event performed at the subject site prior to
case closure.
For your information, I am also forwarding a copy.of the groundwater analytical results that were obtained
{
from Blaine Tech's sampling of the domestic well at the subject site on March 10, 1997.
{ 4
i Attached you will also find, a report dated May 19, 1997,which was prepared by Chevron's consultant;
1 Gettler-Ryan, Inc. (G-R),to describe theabandonmentof the remaining seven groundwater monitoring,
+; wells at the subject site on April 15-16, 1997 and May 10, 1997. Gettler-Ryan's report also describes the
disposition of all soil and water generated during these abandonment activities. All vapor extraction and y
! groundwater monitoring wells associated with the subject site have been properly destroyed and J
abandoned. As such,these activities conclude Chevron's corrective action efforts at the:subject site.
I would also like to take this opportunity to address your question raised duringa previous telephone
G conversation relating to the lack of documentation for the disposal of former UST's . The subject UST's
are referenced as Tank#'s 1. 2, and 3 on page two of the case closure summary form To accommodate
your request.I searched all relevant files for the hazardous waste manifests that would serve to document
the proper disposal of these UST's. Unfortunately, none were located. As a result, no documents
supporting the proper disposal of these UST's can be provided.
The above completes all information to be submitted by Chevron relating to environmental activities at the
subject site. Chevron will look forward to receiving the final no further action letter from your agency. :
1
t3.cyu?d'
