Soil samples will be delivered,under chain of custody,to a laboratory certified by the California <br /> Department of Health Services(DHS) for hazardous materials analyses. The samples will be <br /> analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons by Db <br /> HS-modified the 8Q Method 8015 and for ben- <br /> zene,toluene,xylenes,and ethytbenzene(BTXE) y <br /> A detailed description of borehole drilling and soil sampling procedures is contained in Appen- <br /> dix A,EA's Standard Protocols for well drilling,completion,development,and sampling. <br /> 4,3 GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION,DEVELOPMENT, <br /> AND SAMPLING <br /> The soil boring will be completed as a groundwater monitoring well. The well will be construct- <br /> ed of 4-inch diameter, Schedule 40 PVC flush-threaded casing and 10-15 feet of slotted PVC <br /> screen. 710 prevent any petroleum hydrocarbons that are present in the soil from moving down <br /> into the saturated zone,the well screen will not extend more than 1 foot above the water table if <br /> unconfined the s al conditions are enell s tered. if confined conditions are encountered the well screen <br /> e.
